A Beach Ordnance shoulder flash that belonged to Eric Draper, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, who served in 11th Beach Ordnance Detachment. On D-Day he landed on Sword Beach from a Landing Craft, Tank (LCT), and drove a truck to Pegasus Bridge, after which he returned to the beach. His unit's role was to ensure that British 3rd Division and 6th Airborne Division were supplied with ammunition, and later stores and spares. They rapidly established four ammunition dumps behind the beach, and later created further supply dumps. After five weeks they moved away from the beach, continuing to supply 30th Corps. 11th Beach Ordnance Detachment were a part of 5th Beach Group, who landed on Queen Sector of Sword Beach.
