A blue ensign flag from the hospital carrier ship H.M.H.S. Lady Connaught, which served off the US beaches at Normandy after D-Day. The ship was attached to the US naval forces with an American hospital staff and a British ship's crew. She was a converted cross-Channel passenger steamer, and she left the Solent on 7 June 1944 and arrived at Utah Beach on 8 June 1944. She may have also served off Omaha Beach.
