L'Amerique en Guerre

An American propaganda leaflet entitled 'L'Amerique en Guerre.', dated 29.12.1943. It is in French and was dropped by air in France. The front page headline states that General Dwight Eisenhower has been appointed Supreme Allied Commander for the Second Front (D-Day). It has photographs on the front cover of Roosevelt and General Eisenhower, and smaller photographs of other Allied commanders - Air Chief Marshal Arthur Tedder, General Carl Spaatz, General Sir Bernard Montgomery and General Sir Henry Wilson. Other articles refer to French soldiers fighting alongside the Allies in Italy, the sinking of the Scharnhorst, Allied air attacks on Germany, and acknowledging the work of the French Resistance.
