propaganda leaflet

A Dieppe Raid propaganda leaflet that was dropped on Portsmouth after the failure of the Allied raid on France, August 1942. This type of leaflet was also dropped elsewhere across the UK. This particular leaflet was collected by Mr E. Parsons, then a boy. He was living at Sudbury Road, Wymering. The leaflets were dropped over a wide area, and many were collected up by local children and taken to the air raid warden's post at Whitstable Road (at the southern end of Fairfield Gardens) so that they could be used for scrap.
