The Royal School of Needlework has a notebook written by Miss Bartlett, who was head of the RSN workroom and project manager for the Overlord Embroidery. This talk delves into the book to offer a fascinating insight into some of the challenges encountered in the making of this special work. The embroidery is on display at The D-Day Story and was hand stitched by the RSN from 1968 to 1974.
Susan Kay Williams is the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal School of Needlework, the international centre of excellence for the art of hand embroidery. Founded in 1872, it is steeped in history with unrivalled expertise in the techniques of hand embroidery. They are based at the magnificent Hampton Court Palace in south west London. The RSN website
