Monty’s Double Addresses the Troops, Worthing

Monty’s Double: General Sir Bernard Montgomery (widely known as “Monty”) encouraged troops on Broadwater Green, Worthing, as they prepared for D-Day. But all was not as it seemed. It was not Monty, but his double, Clifton James, being used to confuse the Germans over the possible date of D-Day.
