Led by Simon Trew, Department of War Studies, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
This one-day workshop focuses on how to make the most out of your visit to Normandy’s battlefields. Its main objective is to identify things you can do before you go to France in order to extract maximum benefit from your time on the ground. But it also covers practical aspects of battlefield touring, such as where to stay, what to take with you and problems that you might encounter when you get to Normandy. Topics covered include:
Self-guide or go with an organised group?
Preparing for your visit: Research sources; working with books, maps, documents and photographs.
Practical arrangements before you go.
Using your time in Normandy.
What to do on your return.
Tickets are £85 and include lunch and refreshments. Tickets must be booked in advance on Eventbrite: Visiting Normandy’s battlefields
